OneNKY Alliance and Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky brought regional leaders, community stakeholders, and emerging voices together October 28 for the ninth annual OneNKY Summit, themed “OneNKY United 2030: Driving Our Community Vision.”
The Summit highlighted the OneNKY United 2030 Strategic Plan, a shared roadmap to strengthen Northern Kentucky’s economic prosperity, opportunity, and quality of life through greater regional alignment, collaboration, and accountability. The plan was developed by the OneNKY Partners, a collective of business, community, government leaders, and growth organizations with a passion for community transformation.
Building on the region’s existing strengths and initiatives, the plan emphasizes three overarching goals: We Are One, We Are Community of Choice, and We Are Ambassadors of Accountability. Together, these priorities establish a framework for advancing Northern Kentucky’s future and measuring progress toward 2030.
“The OneNKY Summit is about more than bringing people together. It is about building unity, accelerating progress and turning a shared community vision into action,” said Karen Finan, President and CEO of OneNKY Alliance. “The ideas and perspectives shared at this year’s Summit will help inform our priorities and strengthen accountability as we move toward 2030 and beyond.”
Throughout the event, participants explored regional priorities including education, community health, mobility, economic opportunity, and civic leadership. Interactive discussions encouraged attendees to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and contribute ideas to advance the region’s strategic direction.
A particular emphasis was placed on the next generation. College students shared their perspectives on making Northern Kentucky more attractive to young people, while an elementary student highlighted the value of early civic engagement through his involvement in Adopt a Class – a philanthropic initiative supported by Horizon Community Foundation.
Now in its ninth year, the OneNKY Summit continues to serve as a forum for bringing regional leadership and community voices together around a common purpose. This year’s event marked an important transition from developing a shared vision to advancing a coordinated strategy with measurable outcomes.
The message moving forward: Northern Kentucky’s future depends on collective leadership, sustained engagement, and a commitment to turning vision into results.
