The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises all road users that a roadway rehabilitation project will resume on Grand Avenue (KY 1892) in Campbell County beginning Monday, March 16.
Crews will be replacing the concrete pavement with asphalt on Grand Avenue from east of Pavilion Parkway (2.12 mile point) to southeast of Churchill Drive (1.42 mile point), a distance of 0.7 miles. Additionally, curb box inlets will be repaired and sidewalks will be improved to be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Weather permitting, on Monday, March 16, beginning at 9 a.m., crews will begin performing a traffic switch on Grand Avenue. The eastbound lanes of traffic will be blocked during this phase of construction. Traffic will shift to run in both directions on the westbound section of the road.

This traffic switch is necessary to allow a safe area for crews to tear out the concrete currently in place. This traffic configuration is expected to be in place for six to eight weeks.
All interstate ramps will maintain access during this phase of construction. The sidewalk throughout the project area will be blocked. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky will be closing the Grand Towers bus stop location during this phase of construction. All TANK riders will use the stop at Grand Avenue and Churchill.
Motorists should expect delays during peak traffic times and are encouraged to find alternate routes. Please, drive carefully through the work zone to keep crews safe.
Additional phases for this project will include traffic switches, extended ramp closures and various lane closures in the project area.
The roadway rehabilitation project on Grand Avenue began last October. It focuses on making several improvements to a high traffic corridor and was halted during the winter months.
Crews are replacing 0.7 miles of concrete pavement with asphalt from Pavilion Parkway to just beyond Churchill Drive. Additionally, new concrete has been poured for the walls near the I-471 overpass.
Riegler Blacktop Inc. is contracted to perform the $3,597,318 project on behalf of KYTC. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed Aug. 1, 2026.
