Redwood’s annual meeting will feature keynoter, Secretary Brown, and presentation of awards


Redwood will recognize special award recipients at its 63rd annual dinner on June 14. Keynote speaker will be Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Vickie Yates Brown.

The following 2016 Award Recipients, who have shown outstanding support and dedication to the mission of Redwood and the Dorothy Wood Foundation, will receive special recognition:
 
Outgoing President’s Award – Karen Finan
Dorothy Jean Wood Award – Dan Cahill
Dorothy Wood Foundation Community Service Award – Judy Gerding
Jan Schaffer Award of Excellence – Ed Augur
President’s Award – Dave Gottmann

Redwood is a Northern Kentucky based nonprofit which provides educational, therapeutic, vocational and medical services to children and adults with disabilities.

The annual event will start at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner/meeting at 7 p.m.  The dinner will feature keynote speaker Vickie Yates Brown Glisson, who was appointed the secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services in 2015.

A nationally recognized health care and health insurance attorney, Ms. Glisson served as the co-chair of the Health Law Practice group at the law firm of Frost Brown Todd and chairwoman of the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. She also served as vice chair of the Health Enterprises Network and was a member of the editorial board of the BNA Health Law Reporter.

She often has written and lectured on health law topics, particularly the Affordable Care Act and the privacy and security of health information. She has delivered numerous national and international presentations and co-authored three publications on health care law and government regulation.
  
The annual dinner will conclude with swearing in of incoming Redwood Board President Drew Hollenkamp and Mission Moment speaker Elizabeth Young.
