The largest collection of Kentucky artists under one roof will gather for Kentucky Crafted: The Market, March 7-8 at the Lexington Convention Center.
Now in its 33rd year, the market is the Kentucky Arts Council’s signature event of the year for artists under the Kentucky Crafted brand to display and sell their work to a broad base of consumers and wholesale buyers. More than 200 Kentucky Crafted and selected out-of-state artists will exhibit their work for sale.
March 6 is the designated day for registered buyers to place wholesale orders directly with more than 200 Kentucky Crafted and selected out-of-state artists. The wholesale day is open exclusively to those buyers, including qualified business owners who sell products in retail venues and galleries.
Among the participating artists are 14 who are new to the Kentucky Crafted program and have never before exhibited at the market.
Returning for the fourth consecutive year is the Kentucky Stage, a daily showcase of Kentucky musicians performing a variety of styles. Complementing Kentucky Stage will be the debut of Music Scenes, an exhibit of visual art that will interpret musical feeling onto canvas.
Music Scenes is open to any Kentucky artist who wishes to submit. For more information on Music Scenes, contact Kate Sprengnether at kate.sprengnether@ky.gov or 502-564-3757, ext. 471.
Doors open to the general public March 7-8. Hours are:
* March 7, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
* March 8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tickets are available at the door and are $10 for a one-day ticket or $15 for two days. Children under 15 are admitted free with a paying adult.
