Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, Inc. will open up its research doors on Saturday, November 14, from noon to 3 p.m. to hundreds of scientists and science enthusiasts from around the state.
Amanda Fuller, Executive Director of the Kentucky Academy of Science (KAS), will be on hand for the event that to which the organization’s membership has been invited.
It’s an opportunity to explore the laboratories, meet the scientists and prior students from the Undergraduate Research Education program, and learn more about new discoveries happening in cancer research.

Wood Hudson scientists will meet personally with KAS guests, community supporters, elected officials, and business leaders to talk about their latest cancer research and discoveries, and give guided tours of their 30,000 sq/ft. facility including the Biospecimen Repository Center.
The Repository is a collection of nearly 2 million archived tissue specimens from St. Elizabeth Healthcare and The Christ Hospital.

“We are so delighted to have been asked by Kentucky Academy of Science to open our doors to the hundreds of scientists, students, and supporters of our cancer research laboratory”, said Dr. Julia Carter, President of Wood Hudson.

“To be able to discuss our important clinical cases and experimental models, as well as to showcase our state-of-the-art Repository facility is such an honor.”
