Learning Grove announces ’24 Charity in Action honorees from Cincinnati Preschool Promise, KY Youth advocates


Learning Grove has announced its 2024 Charity in Action Awardees, leading up to its annual Gala in the Grove on Friday, November 22.

Chara Fisher Jackson, Executive Director and CEO at Cincinnati Preschool Promise, and Sarah Vanover, Policy and Research Director at Kentucky Youth Advocates, will be honored for their continued service and leadership in early childhood.

“We are incredibly proud to honor Chara and Sarah and to shine a light on their tireless dedication to early childhood and families,” said Learning Grove CEO Shannon Starkey-Taylor.

“Their work has laid the foundation for a brighter, more equitable future for countless young children and families and ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.”

The Charity in Action Award honors individuals or organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to improving the lives of children, youth, and families in our community. Whether through mentoring, educational programs, or direct assistance, recipients inspire others to join in the effort to uplift families and empower young people.

The gala will be held on Friday, November 22 from 6-10 p.m. at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza’s Pavilion Ballroom in Downtown Cincinnati. Individual tickets are $175 and can be purchased at https://learninggrove.givesmart.com.

WLWT-TV Morning Anchor Kelly Rippin will be guest emcee. Fifth Third Vice President Katriece Barrett serves as the event’s chair.
