Through the Northern Kentucky Water District’s partnership with the Campbell County Fiscal Court, the number of Campbell County Households without access to the public water supply has been reduced by over 40% from 1,524 households to approximately 900 households with the latest water main extension project.

This equates to 98% of households served (state average is 95%).

There are approximately 270 unserved households within a three-mile radius of the new fill station.

Water fill stations are part of the overall effort to make safe drinking water available to NKWD’s entire service area. NKWD continues to identify and secure grants and low interest loan funding to help offset the estimated $87 million to extend water main along approximately 96 miles of roadway.

The Race Track Road Water Fill Station is the third in the county, joining Aqua Drive in Cold Spring and Flagg Springs in California.

The Race Track Road Water Fill Station officially opened following the ribbon cutting.

Taking part in the ribbon-cutting: NKWD Board Chair Doug Wagner, NKWD Vice-Chair Nick Winnike, NKWD President/CEO Lindsey Rechtin, NKWD Treasurer Fred Macke, Kentucky State Representative Mike Clines, Judge/Executive Steve Pendery, Campbell County Commissioner Tom Lampe, Campbell County Commissioner Brian Painter, and Kentucky State Representative Matt Lehman.
