Rotary Club of Florence
Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County on Monday, May 11, at noon, to step back into one of the most defining years in modern history — and discover how its impact still shapes our world today.
It’s a compelling and entertaining program featuring Rick Robinson —a ward-winning author, filmmaker, musician, and storyteller — as he takes us behind the scenes of his upcoming documentary, 1968: The Primer for Understanding Baby Boomers.

Rick brings a one-of-a-kind perspective that blends history, culture, and creativity. From writing 13 award-winning books to performing electric mandolin in an Irish punk rock band, his storytelling is anything but ordinary. When he’s not writing or filming, you’ll likely find him knee-deep in a cold river chasing trout — proving that passion fuels everything he does.
The event takes place at the Northern Kentucky Area Development District. Doors open at 11:45 a.m.
This engaging presentation will explore:
• Why 1968 remains one of the most influential years in American history
• How storytelling and film bring generational perspectives to life
• The cultural forces that shaped—and still influence—today’s leaders, communities, and conversations.
Whether you’re a history buff, film enthusiast, or simply curious about generational impact, this is a program you won’t want to miss.
