New online process allows Covington residents to request free monthly Transfer Station dropoff voucher


Covington is offering residents a new online process allowing them to conveniently request one Transfer Station drop-off voucher per month.

The voucher program provides Covington residents with one free voucher per month to dispose of eligible materials at the Rumpke Covington Transfer Station, located at 4399 Boron Drive in Covington.

Residents can request a voucher online by completing the City’s online registration form.

Residents must obtain and register their voucher before visiting the transfer station. A valid voucher is required for entry during regular operating hours:

• Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Saturday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Residents who do not have access to a computer can visit the City’s Public Works Office at 1730 Russell St. to request assistance obtaining a voucher.

Eligible material

Vouchers may be used to dispose of:

• Bulk household items, including furniture and mattresses
• Excessive household trash bags
• Home renovation debris
• Yard waste
• Scrap metal
• Four tires per voucher

Materials must be transported in a car, SUV, van, pickup truck, or small trailer no longer than eight feet. Flatbed trucks and pickups modified to significantly increase bed height are not eligible under the voucher program.

Items not accepted

The transfer station will not accept:

• Batteries
• Liquids
• Appliances containing FREON
• Combustible or hazardous materials
• Rocks
• Dirt

Rumpke reserves the right to refuse any item.

Voucher requirements and expiration dates

Applicants must provide a valid driver’s license or photo ID showing proof of Covington residency.

Voucher validity periods are as follows:

• Vouchers issued between January 1 and June 30 must be redeemed by June 30.
• Vouchers issued between July 1 and December 31 must be redeemed by December 31.
