The Kentucky Army National Guard’s ribbon-cutting ceremony today dedicates a new field maintenance shop at the Burlington Readiness Center, 2676 Conrad Lane, in Burlington.
Members of the public who attend the 10 a.m. ceremony will hear remarks from key officials about the project’s significance and its positive impact on the local community.
“As we mark the opening of this new facility, we’re recognizing more than a new building — we’re recognizing an investment in the future of the Kentucky National Guard,” said Maj. Gen. Haldane B. Lamberton, Kentucky’s adjutant general.
“This facility strengthens our readiness and self-sufficiency, while providing our Soldiers with the resources they need to respond safely and effectively to whatever challenges lie ahead.”
The new, more than 25,000 square-foot maintenance facility, will enhance equipment readiness for modern vehicles and equipment to support Kentucky Guard units in Northern Kentucky.
Kentucky National Guard officials say its modern design will provide improved workspace for mechanics, and its location will help increase safety by reducing military traffic traveling on I-75 and I-71, benefiting both Guardsmen and the surrounding communities.
