The City of Florence is inviting residents, businesses and community members to share their perspectives on the growing use of alternative forms of transportation, including e-bikes, electric scooters, golf carts and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs). As these vehicles become increasingly common, communities across Kentucky are considering how they fit within existing transportation systems and local regulations. Recent changes to Kentucky law have also expanded where certain UTVs may be permitted to operate on public roadways, creating additional considerations for local governments.
Before moving forward with any potential regulations or policy decisions, the City of Florence wants to hear directly from the community. Florence has launched an Alternative Mobility Survey, which will remain open through Wednesday, September 16. The survey is designed to gather feedback regarding the use of these vehicles in Florence, including community perspectives on safety, roadway use, enforcement and potential local regulations.
Whether residents currently use e-bikes, electric scooters, golf carts or UTVs, support their use, have concerns about their operation, or simply want to provide input on how Florence should approach alternative mobility, all community members are encouraged to participate.
The city has established an online survey where the community can share their views.
Community feedback collected through the survey will help city officials better understand local perspectives and will be considered as future discussions regarding alternative mobility take place.
