As we head into the midterms, I think many of us are already feeling exhausted by
national politics and the constant stream of political rhetoric and propaganda. It can be overwhelming. But please, don’t lose sight of your local elections.
Several important positions are on the ballot, and the people elected to these roles often have a more direct impact on your everyday life than you might realize.

I’m also on the ballot this year, running unopposed. As I reflect on my first 10 months as Mayor, I’m incredibly proud of what our City has accomplished.
We’ve tackled controversial topics head-on and made difficult decisions by
listening to Fort Mitchell residents and, ultimately, doing what we believe is right for our community.
The credit for these accomplishments and the progress we’ve made rests squarely on the shoulders of your City Council:
Vicki Boerger
Jared Arlinghouse
Jeff Dietrich
Jerry Deatherage
Kim Nachazel
Alyson Roeding
Brad Leake
This Council has stepped up, taken the lead, and put in the work to move our City
forward.
They haven’t shied away from difficult conversations or hidden from challenging
decisions. They’ve shown up, engaged, and represented our residents.
We have a Council made up of individuals with diverse skill sets, experiences, and perspectives. Each brings something unique to the table, and that diversity makes our discussions stronger. We don’t always agree, and no one is afraid to ask tough questions or challenge an idea. But what matters most is that we approach those differences with civility, respect, and a willingness to collaborate.
That’s what good local leadership looks like.
This group consistently rolls up its sleeves, works through the tough issues, and stays focused on what matters most: the people who call Fort Mitchell home.
At the end of the day, it’s not about politics, personalities, or who gets the credit. It’s about doing what’s best for our residents. It’s about doing what’s best FOR YOU.
So, as we head into the midterms, please take the time to learn about the local
candidates and the positions on your ballot. These elections matter, and your voice matters. Local government is where community happens.
Greg Pohlgeers
Mayor of Fort Mitchell
