In her new role, Maissel will be responsible for the medical leadership of SEP. She will work closely with both the executive team and providers to develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans that cover practice operations, human resources, financial performance and growth that support the philosophy and goals of SEP.

Maissel most recently served as chief medical officer at Baystate Health, Northern Region where she managed program development, standardization and a culture of service to reach and surpass economic, patient satisfaction and quality targets. She has also served in various physician and healthcare leadership roles during the past 20 years in both rehabilitation and post-acute care throughout Massachusetts and the Northeast.

Maissel earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Connecticut and her Medical Doctorate from State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, New York. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship at Crozier Chester Medical Center in Chester, PA and her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Maissel to our thriving medical group,” says Dr. Glenn Loomis, President and CEO of St. Elizabeth Physicians. “I am confident her talents and extensive experience as a senior executive within the industry will prove successful as we continue our journey toward an integrated health system.”
