The Think Shop in Newport has announced its Think Square art celebration will return for a ninth year September 18.
The celebration of local art gives creators complete freedom with one rule — every piece must fit a 5” x 5” square format.

Think Square 9 will be held at 811 Monmouth St, with an opening reception on Friday, September 18, from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public. The evening will begin with an opening reception. The 5″ x 5” art pieces will be available for purchase online at thinksquareart.com once the show opens.
Think Square will run weekdays from September 21 to October 21 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. All art will be for sale.
“Hosting Think Square in our studio has become a staple for us,” said David Dalton, principal of The Think Shop. “Not only do we get to create, but for a month out of the year we get to enjoy the creation of other artists and support the local fine arts community with a place to show.”
By offering an accessible platform where both seasoned and emerging artists share equal footing, the show, curated by local artist Andrea Knarr, fosters connections across the creative community.
The unique 5” x 5” format encourages artistic experimentation, while making original, handmade artwork affordable and accessible to both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors.
