The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour hosted a roundtable on free enterprise in partnership with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
The event brought together U.S. Chamber Vice President of the Great Lakes Region Kevin Courtois and local business leaders.
During the roundtable at the OneNKY Center, business leaders discussed the importance of addressing housing affordability challenges and the role of public-private partnerships and permitting reforms in supporting workforce housing and economic growth.
“Engaging with local business leaders in Northern Kentucky and hearing firsthand about the opportunities and challenges they witness in their community help inform the Chamber’s efforts to advocate for pro-growth policy,” said Kevin Courtois, vice president of the Great Lakes Region for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “These conversations are an important reminder that when businesses have the freedom to grow and succeed, they create jobs and help their communities thrive. We appreciate the partnership of the Northern Kentucky Chamber and look forward to our continued work together in the region.”
“Today’s roundtable was a great opportunity for NKY Chamber members and regional leaders to be part of the U.S. Chamber’s national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour and to have a real conversation about what businesses and communities need to succeed. A strong free enterprise system depends on creating an environment where employers can grow, invest, and create opportunity. The roundtable allowed our members to share what they are seeing firsthand, including challenges around workforce, housing and transportation,” said Tami Wilson, vice president of Government Relations and Business Advocacy at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
The Opportunity Tour is a part of the U.S. Chamber’s New Fight for Free Enterprise initiative, a multi-year strategic effort to defend, protect, and promote free enterprise.
For six weeks, the Free Enterprise Express bus will visit businesses whose ideas, products, and services help make communities stronger, more vibrant, and uniquely their own. The bus is traveling to key states to drive the debate about what it takes for people, businesses, and communities to thrive. It is planned in partnership with state and local chamber members.
